The Batman: 10 Biggest Reveals From The Set Photos
2. A Possible Nod To The Scarecrow
At this stage, most Batman villains have been given the opportunity to grave the silver screen, but Scarecrow is one who would definitely benefit from more screentime. A very grounded version of Dr. Jonathan Crane appeared in Batman Begins (and briefly in The Dark Knight Rises), but Matt Reeves' take in this much darker world would be a blast to see.
Bear in mind that Batman is in the second year of his career here, so who knows who he faced during that first 365 days (he must have battled at least one or two names familiar to comic book fans).
A sign spotted on the set of The Batman showed someone who looks an awful lot like the Scarecrow with the words "Fear City" written around it. Could that be an indication that the Caped Crusader has already crossed paths with Scarecrow in Gotham City?
It would be great to get a throwaway mention of his defeat (or even a glimpse of him in Gotham City), setting the stage for a return somewhere down the line as he uses his fear gas to bring Batman to his knees.
