5. Make Dick Grayson Robin BEFORE He's Nightwing
There is a Nightwing movie already in the works, delayed to high heaven though it might be. Which means we're going to get the first version of Dick Grayson seen on the big screen since the Schumacher Batman movies back in the nineties. Definitely a wide gap, but starting off with Nightwing seems like a bad idea.
Nightwing is the culmination of Dick Grayson's character arc. He starts off with his parents being murdered and being adopted by Bruce. Then he gets fed up with him for whatever reason (it's Bruce Wayne, so pick one) and strikes out on his own. Eventually he decides to rebrand when he hears that there's a new Robin in town, and becomes Nightwing.
The identity of Nightwing is a visual demonstration of his independence, to the point where he originally got the idea from a story told by SUPERMAN.
A Nightwing movie is an awesome idea, but even Titans knew you had to have him be Robin FIRST before he can don the black and blue disco suit.
