The Batman: 10 Ways DC Can Make A New PERFECT Shared Universe

4. Acknowledge Superman

I mean, why not, right?

The thing about the Batman movies, right from the beginning, is that they seem utterly embarrassed about being associated in any way with Superman, or indeed the greater DC universe as a whole. If it's not about the serious, grounded mythology about a rich guy who beats up poor people while dressed as a bat, then it's not worth WB's time.

And while not being bogged down by the events of EVERY other IP in your cinematic universe in order to tell a better story is one of the basic tenets of a good cinematic universe, it would pay to still remember that Batman and Superman are supposed to be best friends.

Despite the movies constantly trying to make you forget this, it still remains that Superman and Batman are close allies; not ideological enemies, not opposing forces, but best friends. Sure they argue and bicker over their differing methods, but the idea behind them is that the bickering is born out of an undying respect for the other.

Point is, if you really want this new version of Batman to stand out, then he should at least acknowledge that Superman exists.
