The Batman: 15 Details You Missed The First Time
13. The Batcave Is In A Private Train Station
From the movie's trailers, fans deduced that the Batcave was situated in a location called "Wayne Terminus," and though this seemed to suggest it was a disused train station, it wasn't precisely clear how Bruce would be able to freely use it as his hideout without risking discovery.
However in the final film itself, when Bruce first drives his motorcycle into the Batcave, keep an eye on the signage on the left-hand side of the screen. Below Wayne Terminus you'll be able to spot a sign that reads "private station."
And so while fans initially believed the Batcave was an abandoned or disused public station in the past, it was actually built by Thomas Wayne to provide himself with a direct line of transportation to his home. This is backed up by Matt Reeves' own statements:
"The idea being that some of these wealthy industrialist families had private train cars at the turn of the century. So the Batcave is actually in the foundation of this tower. It was [another] way of saying, 'How can we root all these things in things that feel real, but also extraordinary?'"
