When it comes to comic book movies there are certain pitfalls that filmmakers repeatedly encounter. One of the most recurring and indeed frustrating is the matter of stuffing a film with too many villains; Spider-Man 3 did it, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 did it, and... actually it was just those two films that did it (go figure).
Still, the point remains that any adaptation that's attempted to include more than two villains at a given time has tended to fall apart in the third act.
The Batman, according to rumours, is hoping to duck that trend by doubling down on the amount of villains featured in the roster, in a bid to finally capture the scope and status of the Dark Knight's infamous rogues gallery.
Geeks World Wide claim that not only will Riddler, Catwoman and Penguin appear, but that Firefly is in with a chance also. The first three have all made multiple appearances across live action, but Firefly is yet to appear on the big screen in any major capacity.
