The Batman Review: 7 Ups & 2 Downs
4. Catwoman Generally
Then, there's Zoë Kravitz and her sterling portrayal of Selina Kyle/Catwoman - she's another highlight of The Batman. Whereas others, like Serkis as Alfred, seem a little half-baked and like they won't be developed until the sequel, Kravitz commands attention and could easily star in her own film.
If DC and Warner Bros want to, they could easily make up for that terrible 2004 Catwoman garbage starring Halle Berry. Y'know, just saying. Zoë is the ideal candidate to make a standalone origins story for Kyle work. She's that comfortable in the role throughout Reeves' retelling of Batman.
This Catwoman sits snugly between the early "good" and "bad" of Bruce Wayne and Edward Nashton with absolute ease. Some hardcore fans of the Batman world don't like when the superhero shows weakness for Selina, but even those doubters will tip a cap towards what's presented here.
A spin-off awaits.
