3. A Nightmare On Elm Street
During a flashback sequence, we see just how David came to be possessed. In this scene, he climbs onto a waterbed and lays down similar to Joey on his own bed in A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master - but there is more to this bed than expected.
For David, the demon is lying in wait within the water watching him and pushing back on the bed. But once David notices what is happening it is too late and the demon's arm bursts out along with sprays of water as it attempts to pull him in.
This is a clear nod to Dream Master where Freddy tempted Joey before bursting out of the bed and pulling him in. Both scenes are incredibly similar in the situation but most notably is how well they mirror each other, before both David and Joey are attacked they are on all fours staring at what is inside the waterbed.
