The rumour mill has been giving off smoke thanks to this one. Firstly, let me remind you that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is an awesome actor and an extremely critically and commercially acclaimed one at that. If Nolans put him in there at all its for something big.
Gordon-Levitts IMDb page lists his TDKR characters name as John Blake. Who is John Blake? Hes nobody. He doesnt ever appear in the comic-books to my knowledge, which says to me that this is a code name and that hes actually someone else. Ive read about all the rumours: hes the next Batman after Bane kills Bruce Wayne; hes Robin; hes The Riddler.
One page even points us towards the fact that he could be Batman staple character
Azrael another vigilante type hero that, for a while at least, takes up the Bat-mantle after Bruce Waynes back is broken byuh ohBane. I dont know about you, but this actually seems quite feasible. Of course Nolan has seemingly managed to get revealing the plot of TDKR listed as high treason in the American constitution so literally no solid leads have dropped as yet and it looks as though well have to wait to know for sure.
