The Dark Knight Rises: 10 Questions We Still Want Answered

4. How Did Talia & Bane Know Bruce Wayne Was Batman?

Obviously Ra's Al Ghul knew, but when exactly did he transmit this news to his daughter? It isn't too much of a problem to believe that Ra's somehow got word to his daughter who was part of the League of Shadows, even if they were estranged over Ra's shunning of Bane, but the absence of any explanation felt like a missing jigsaw piece when Talia revealed her true identity. It's not even certain Talia and Ra's were fully estranged, given the fact that the script doesn't just have her attempt to kill Batman and wipe Gotham off the map as a simple act of vengeance €“ she shares her father's ideology, and his desire to eradicate Gotham's excess after all. She wants to continue his work, and not merely atone for his absence in her life. So presumably at some point Talia learned of Bruce Wayne's secret double life through the League of Shadows network of information, but there is no suggestion of that in the script. And in a film in which verbose exposition is valued above all else, that has to be counted as an over-sight.
