While perhaps not so meaningful in the grand scheme of things, something that may have been overlooked by many during the first fight between Batman and Bane was a line that the League of Shadows resurgent utters after having a cluster of small explosive capsules thrown at him. "Theatricality and deception are powerful agents (to the uninitiated)." This is a direct quote from Ra's al Ghul himself, as said to Bruce in Batman Begins. Bane sure did pay attention during lessons. There's quite a dark irony in this line being repeated moments before we watch the Bat be broken for the first time.
