2. Including Juno Temple's Jen

Why on Earth was Jen even included? She was little more than furniture, a link between Selina Kyle and the lower classes which you get the feeling was intended to be more explicit, but which ended up just being a side concern, and a distraction at times. I can understand the intention: Jen is clearly what Selina could have been, were it not for her motivation to escape her background through any means possible, but the emotional weight of that character dynamic was completely absent, and Jen was pretty much absent herself, uttering just a handful of words and offering very little explanation for why Selina would even tolerate her, given her obviously strong self-involvement. Rather than giving Selina a tangible link to humanity, Jen's inclusion ended up being almost entirely superfluous, offering more questions than actual answers. Who is that? Why is Selina her friend? Why hasn't the script explored their relationship through anything other than proximity? Which leads us to another mis-step, relating more specifically to Jen's friend Selina...
