Advanced screening tickets for "The Dark Knight Rises" go on sale today in the US and UK for true IMAX showings. For UK tickets to "The Dark Knight Rises - The IMAX Experience" at BFI IMAX. The advanced tickets actually went on sale at midnight and are available now. BFI IMAX is the only cinema in London to showcase Christopher Nolan's final entry in his Batman trilogy in a 15/70mm IMAX DMR film print, i.e. the way the film was meant to be presented. Nolan and his trusty director of photography Wally Pfister shot 55 minutes worth of footage on IMAX cameras, filing the entire BFI IMAX screen with his final chapter on Batman. For our US readers, most cinema chains are in synch for advanced tickets to go on sale at 12noon EST, 9am Pacific and 11am Central from today. Tickets will be on sale in the US via http://www.amctheatres.com/ on June 11 for midnight showings, IMAX viewings and a trilogy marathon preceding those midnight shows. The Dark Knight Rises hits theatres July 20th, 2012.
