The Dark Knight Rises: The Final Face-Off

3. The Cringeworthy Moments

Leaked-Footage-Of-Catwoman-On-The-Batpod-From-The-Dark-Knight-Rises "I like that name - Robin." Following The Dark Knight's brilliant "NO MORE DEAD COPS" scene, The Dark Knight Rises has a genius forced line delivery of its own, the shoehorned and entirely irrelevant 'Robin' plot point unenthusiastically read out by someone who can't quite believe this level of sledgehammer exposition made it into such a major project. Props should also go to Chris Nolan for turning Marion Cotillard into a bad actress, wasting her in a thankless role for the entire movie then killing her off in one of the most unbelievably cringey 'gasp, aaand DEAD' moments for some time. Cotillard isn't the only actor giving cringey moments, though, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt submitting his performance by phone and Matthew Modine returning to the big screen complete with all his charisma (read: none) to remind everyone why he was sent away in the first place. Most of the rest of the cast act similarly po-faced, apparently confused that The Dark Knight Rises is one of those dry, worthy TV movies rather than an action-packed summer blockbuster. While these guys got away with it, everyone instead attacked Tom Hardy and his King of the Gypsies voice, despite the fact that he's the best thing about the film. Which just goes to show that people can't be trusted.
