The director of SAW VI is...

Actually the more productive question might be, which member of the crew got the directing buck passed to him this time?

Here's a prediction... Saw VII will be directed by the series costume designer and Saw VIII will be helmed by the coffee runner. I mean that's what they are going to get down to soon because they are reluctant to give the Saw franchise to anyone outside of their close knit team who have worked on these pathetic films for the past five years.

Since Darren Lynn Bousmann announced his last Saw movie would be last year's fourth installment of the series the news soon came that the fifth movie due out this October would be directed by the series production designer and second unit helmer David Hackl... and now comes the news from Shock Till You Drop that Saw VI will be directed by the series editor Kevin Greutert as his directorial debut. Has a big money franchise in the history of cinema ever worked in such a strange and incestuous manner? While we are on the subject, Saw V will have the goriest opening scene ever in the series and some of the coolest and inventive traps according to it's director and producer. Don't they spout this same kind of message every year...
"Our opening is...it's something," smiles Hackl. "People turn away in the editing room when they come in and see it. Our composer, Charlie Clouser, can't even watch it." "The traps we have in this movie are simple but scary and spooky as all hell," Burg adds. "One requirement with the traps is that they have to be anything you can buy at the Home Depot."
