The Enterprise Goes Surfing In Final Star Trek Beyond Trailer

"Let's hope this doesn't get messy!"

Enterprise Surfing Star Trek Beyond

Having already picked up a massive 91% on RottenTomatoes from pre-release reviews, Star Trek Beyond flies into cinemas at the end of this week with Trekkers fully aware that they're already getting a sequel with Chris Hemsworth back on board. Despite him being dead. Go figure.

Now, Paramount have released another new trailer - this time called the Final Trailer, but shorter than you'd usually expect for that sort of billing - and it's rip-roarious fun. You can definitely tell Justin Lin's influence, particularly in the action scenes, which seem to include the Enterprise surfing a righteous tube of alien spaceships. Gnarly, dude...

This definitely looks like it's worth a go, even for the more ardent fans of the original show who think it's moving too far away from the source. With the reviews saying it's basically an Original Series episode on steroids, that might not really be the case either.

This also comes hot on the tail of a TV Spot mysteriously featuring Idris Elba's character before he "evolves" into the alien final form we've seen in the other trailers and offering the chilling threat:

"The Federation do not care about us, they abandoned this planet long ago. You'll probably never see me again, but if you do... be ready."

Vengeance, thy name is Elba.
