Whatever you think of this movie, there's not much arguing with the fact that Denzel Washington gives an absolutely magnetic performance in the role of Robert McCall.

Never one to just phone it in, Washington is absolutely riveting in even the movie's very worst moments, bringing that unique, signature brand of quietly powerful charisma to the table.

Whether he's slicing guys up half his age or talking shop with a pal, his commitment to the part is never in doubt, and he significantly elevates a movie that might feel decidedly more run-of-the-mill with a less-talented actor steering the ship.
