Perhaps the most famous member of the Eternals next to Sersi, Ikaris possesses one heck of a tragic backstory but, like most Eternals, is also ridiculously powerful.
The film will apparently spotlight the character as Sersi's love interest, but potentially the coolest thing about the character are his powers. Upon being introduced to the MCU, he's likely to join Captain Marvel as one of the franchise's most powerful members, with the character possessing virtual immortality, powers of levitation, and the usual cosmic weapon of being able to project beams from his eyes (as you do).
In the comics, it's actually Makkari (the fastest Eternal) who has an on-again, off-again relationship with Sersi, so it'll be interesting to see why the film has ostensibly opted for Ikaris as the co-lead instead.

In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir.
