19. The Flintstones Inversion

There's very much an element of The Flintstones in the way the dinosaurs have evolved to take on jobs beyond the point of their traditional extinction. Though they aren't subservient to the humans, the idea that herbivores would become farmers and carnivores would become cowboys and ranchers has a Hanna Barbera tweeness about it. And there's certainly something specific in the way they adapt their bodies to be useful that fits that. Plus if you think of Spot as a sort of surrogate Dino, his relationship with Arlo all becomes very enjoyable.
