The Grudge Review: 2 Ups & 8 Downs

2. The Hilariously Bad Ending

No spoilers, but the end of this movie is sure to leave audiences groaning and sighing in disbelief.

Though there's a promising final showdown somewhere in this closing sequence, it attempts an ill-advised rug-pull that's far too predictable to actually work, complete with some unintentionally goofy visuals that provoke more laughs than gasps.

But what's really likely to rankle viewers is the final shot which, without giving it away, seems like a trollish provocation to audiences more than anything else.

It is, ultimately, a whole lot of nothing, and destined to have viewers heading home wondering why they even bothered.
