Since its initial trailer debuted a couple of months ago, The Happytime Murders has become one of the most anticipated comedies of the year. While the project has been quiet for a while now though, STX has just launched a new poster in anticipation of its August theatrical release.

Set in the underbelly of Los Angeles - in a world where both humans and puppets try to co-exist - when a killer begins hunting down the former cast of the ‘80s puppet show “The Happytime Gang”, two competing detectives are forced to come together to solve the ridiculously violent crimes.

Starring Melissa McCarthy and directed by Brian Henson, the new poster has laid out pretty much everything audiences can expect come August: namely, plenty of sex, murder and a bucketload of puppets like you’ve never seen them before. As if it was ever in doubt, the movie has officially earned its R-rating as well, living up to the bold claims of the new poster. For better or worse, you’ll never be able to watch a puppet movie in the same way ever again.
