While JJL has been consistently working since the late 1970's, she hasn't had a significant role in a great film since 2004's The Machinist. Nobody revives sagging careers quite like Quentin Tarantino (isn't that right John Travolta, Robert Forster and Chris Walken?) It's hard to say why Leigh's career took such a downward turn in the late '90s; she was phenomenal in earlier works like Rush and The Hudsucker Proxy. By all accounts, she is a consummate professional who serves as a tide that raises all ships on movie sets. She certainly has the chops to bring something special to the Hateful Eight as crazy/violent fugitive Daisy Domergue. Those who saw Single White Female can attest to Leigh's ability to convincingly pull off crazy. Let's hope her turn in Hateful Eight provides the career resurgence she deserves.
