The Lego Batman Movie Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

The Lego Batman Movie has begun rolling out internationally, and it's safe to say that critics are taking pretty kindly to it so far. It's certainly not perfect, but it mostly lives up to expectations and proves that the Lego movie brand won't be going away anytime soon (especially as it's tracking to be a monstrous box office hit to boot).

It won't fulfill everyone's hype, but after DC really cratered at the cinema last year, it's refreshing to see these characters treated with the love, respect and reverence - tongue-in-cheek though it is - that they so thoroughly deserve.

Could it be better? Sure, and there are some standout issues we're doing to discuss, but for those craving a light superhero romp far away from the misery of the DCEU, this is largely just the ticket.
