The Lego Batman Movie Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

2. The Third Act Is Totally Insane

Things do slow down a bit in the second act, but the final reel of this movie is certifiably nuts. No spoilers here, but the final half-hour essentially goes into pop-culture overload and hurls a ton of surprising cameos at the audience, sure to please adults in particular.

It's also extremely action-heavy but manages to remain visually diverse due to some of the zanier elements introduced in the final battle sequence.

The movie carries itself to the finish line with considerable zeal, combining cracking one-liners with beautifully animated mayhem, and smartly doesn't just rehash the live-action finale of The Lego Movie as it teases doing a few times.
