Ups...

3. The Opening Sequence Is Incredible

Say what you want about the new film, but in the very least it absolutely nails a reproduction of the original's iconic Circle of Life sequence.

Though Jon Favreau doesn't stray far at all from the scene's original conception, it at least feels like a suitably emotional and atmospheric recreation, perhaps aided by the fact that it doesn't require any of the film's characters to actually speak.

Relying on the amazing music, statuesque visuals and sheer nostalgia factor, it sets a high bar that the rest of the film sadly can't even begin to live up to. Once the animals start talking and not-emoting, it's all over.
