5. Hi-yo Silver, Away!

Silver is a reoccurring theme throughout the history of The Lone Ranger's story. Firstly there's the obvious reference to his trusty steed Silver the horse. Remember the iconic catchphrase "Hi-yo Silver, Away!"? Well The Ranger was also heir to a silver mine which was pretty lucky. It allowed him to create silver bullets which were synonymous with him whenever he fired that pesky six shooter of his at bad guys. But it was the idea of silver bullets that almost made the 2013 reimagining something of a farce. You see back in 2011 the long talked about Lone Ranger movie was put on a hiatus due to various budget cuts and cast and crew changes. Although this caused all kinds of problems and delays in the long run it turned out to be the best thing that could have ever happened as it allowed for a complete rewrite of the script. Apparently the original script which had floated around since as early as 2008 actually had the titular hero and his sidekick Tonto waging war on a gang of Werewolf bandits that could only be stopped with ... wait for it ... The Lone Ranger's patented silver bullets. We're sure you'll agree that would have been more of an epic fail than an epic tale.
