5. The Script Is A Mess
First and foremost, the script for this thing is just all over the place.
If you're looking for a nuanced, well-crafted story here, you're bound to be sorely disappointed. But even those expecting standard fare for the MCU may be left surprised at just how barebones The Marvels' narrative truly is.
What passes for a plot here is propelled forward by only the most tedious of expository dialogue.
Genuine intrigue and detailed character development are in shockingly short supply across the board, with the chit-chat more or less feeling like perfunctory waypoints from one action sequence to the next.
The dialogue throughout also generally lacks the pep and energy expected of the MCU, despite the game efforts of the three leads to bring it to life.
Just like the scripts for recent MCU mediocrities like Thor: Love and Thunder and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, this plays like a first draft which accidentally got the greenlight for shooting.
It feels at least a few drafts away from being ready for production, ensuring that the end result is just a bit feeble and unremarkable.
