The Matrix Resurrections: 25 WTF Moments

20. Morpheus Says "At Last"... In A Toilet Stall

The Matrix Resurrections
Warner Bros.

Within the Matrix, Bugs and Morpheus head to Neo's office to rescue him from Smith, as is obviously reminiscent of the sequence in Neo's workplace from the original film.

In an hilarious subversion, though, Neo ends up being directed into a bathroom by Morpheus, where Morpheus steps out of a toilet stall and says "at last," nodding to the same greeting he gave Neo in the first film, albeit with a far more cinematic sense of majesty in that case.

Because this isn't weird enough, Morpheus even jokes about the callback being "hard to resist," and says he can't decide whether repeating the line out of a toilet stall is "tragedy or farce."

An explosion-filled shootout in the office may follow, but it's not nearly as entertainingly bizarre as hearing Morpheus wax philosophical on the theatrical merits (or lack thereof) of toilet stall entrances.
