1. Clooney Steps Up His Directing Game

Though The Midnight Sky is very far from perfect, it does nevertheless represent a significant leap for filmmaker Clooney, who proves himself perfectly capable of tackling more lavish, big-budget tentpole fare.

A million miles away from his more modest drama films - quite literally, in fact - the film proves that, with a stronger script, he's certainly got what it takes to deliver a spectacularly crafted work of high-concept cinema.

That's not to say that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be offering George a gig any time soon - they probably can't afford his fee, for one - but hopefully this project encourages him to take another big swing on this scale in the near-future.
