THE MIST poster

It kinda reminds me of the imagery from Spielberg's WAR OF THE WORLDS

Ok, I'll admit the trailer for THE MIST was slightly disappointing. I think it worked as a nice tease, especially towards the end of the trailer but there was a little too much build-up that went on a few frames to long and there's something about the setting that's not doing it for me. It feels a little too much like Hitchcock's THE BIRDS and not enough of it's own identity. I really expected a bigger supermarket, a more consumerist and mainstream American one like the store found in ONE HOUR PHOTO. Still, I think the trailer worked quite well on a whole and maybe I was expecting a little too much. Frank Darabont is the man behind the camera, and after THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION and THE GREEN MILE, you kinda expect the world from him with a Stephen King flick. New poster for the film is below. It's a little reminiscent of the kind of imagery from WAR OF THE WORLDS but it's interesting enough...
