THE OFFICE temp joins Tarantino's army!

He plays a right bastard on that show and now B.J. Novak is officially one for Quentin.

Casting is coming in thick and fast for Tarantino's next project. The Hollywood Reporter say comedian/writer/actor B.J. Novak has joined the cast of Inglorious Bastards as PFC Utvich, a soldier of slight build from New York. It's Novak's biggest film role to date having briefly appeared in Reign Over Me and if my memory serves me right as a rather weird and creepy pervert doctor delivering babies in Knocked Up.

Of course he is best known for playing the temp in the U.S. version of The Office, where his character leaped through years of building from the ground up to go from a temp to a regional manager DESPITE having never made a sale of paper. But of course he had a business degree, so that's ok! I love that show, Novak is a really funny guy with some great timing. He's also wrote a couple of episodes and acts as an executive producer, he's certainly got a career ahead of him on and off screen in the industry. But this one will be a real test for him. Again Tarantino has gone for an actor with very little experience after the news leaked of Eli Roth's casting yesterday, I'm fascinated by his choices here.
