The shields are well and truly down for STAR TREK. More images!!!

UPDATED: Once again with more images and talk! More photo's from Entertainment Weekly, who also have lots of information nicely broken down by /film into bite sized chunks. A couple of tidbits per picture but I will give you one here for free... STAR TREK TRAILER CONFIRMED FOR QUANTUM OF SOLACE ON NOV. 14th (U.S.) BUT WON'T BE FOR US IN THE U.K. AS WE ARE GETTING THE MOVIE EARLY! The film has been confirmed as a $150 million Paramount blockbuster. That's over TWICE as large as the biggest budget TREK film in history, the 2002 film STAR TREK: NEMESIS. The highest grossing STAR TREK movie was STAR TREK IV: THE VOYAGE HOME which earned just over $100 million domestically. Three candidates auditioned for the role of Kirk alongside Zachary Quinto but it was Chris Pine who won the part.

LOTS MORE NEW IMAGES AND INFORMATION AFTER THE BEAM UP...

Of the phases, Abrams said... €œsleek silver gizmos with spring-triggered barrels that revolve and glow in the transition from €™stun€™ to €˜kill€™.€ Hand rails have been added to the bridge to help the crew deal with impacts that previously and often comically, saw them flying all around the ship. Abrams though resisted the urge of adding seatbelts. Abrams once again gives real fans the really worrying quote that is not €œa movie for fans of Star Trek,€ but €œa movie for fans of movies.€ Which it kinda has to be at a budget of $150 million. Chris Pine will still be a "fresh faced cadet" when he first confronts the Romulans. The U.S.S. Kelvin (the ship in the movie set well before the birth of the Enterprise) was named after J.J. Abrams' grandfather Henry Kelvin. He was the guy behind the infamous mystery box speech. UPDATED: With more images!MTV got an exclusive first look at the new bridge from the U.S.S. Enterprise which looks so modern, so bright and on a much bigger scale than any ship in the series before. It feels almost like a large health and beauty store... Co-producer Damon Lindelof says the black shirt Kirk wears, is the official captain's uniform and the colour is significant to the overall story they are wanting to tell. Ugo carry a full main crew image (minus Spock) featuring Anton Yelchin as Chekov, Chris Pine as James T. Kirk, Simon Pegg as Lt. Montgomery Scott, Karl Urban as Dr. McCoy, John Cho as Sulu and Zoe Saldana as Uhura... IGN have Kirk on ice, on some kind of away mission to an Arctic planet in a scene that apparently takes place mid-point in the film. Lindelof said he wanted to show audiences it's not all just about what takes place on board the Enterprise. Joblo have Eric Bana as the Romulan villain Nero at the bridge of his vessel. His crew are described as "ruthless pirates". Back to original post... Finally, we are starting to see what this movie will look like (keep scouring the web because Paramount's marketing campaign for this movie seems to have begun TODAY... and lots more images are set to be released tonight, but I'm off to bed!). The image of Zachary Quinto pulling the same kind of pose as he does in Heroes but still managing to look like Leonard Nimoy comes from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly on sale this Friday. The image is our first clear look at the new uniform which seems to be extremely authentic in design to the 60's show, if quite a bit darker. The issue also features a cover of the new Spock and Kirk (Chris Pine), which again shows the uniform.. Kirk going for black rather than yellow. Boy is the Kirk in this new movie a young dude... Trek Movie also carry an exclusive first look image at U.S.S. Kelvin in action... Keep scouring the web tonight, more from the movie is expected to be released as we head towards that trailer in November. If you do spot the new images, leave a link here for our readers! via - /film
