The Single Best Thing In Every Star Wars Movie

4. Return Of The Jedi: Darth Vader's Redemption

Return of the Jedi, thanks to its occasional dabbling in childish antics and lack of the darkness that made its immediate predecessor so spectacular, is the weakest of the Original Trilogy but it's still a very good movie nonetheless and it gets many things spectacularly right.

Most of all, it offers one of the most moving character redemptions in any medium.

Darth Vader's final redemption and sacrificial death, which follows an absolute masterpiece of a lightsaber duel between him and Luke is, thanks to the stunningly powerful writing, easily the most emotionally shattering, tear-jerking moment in the entire series.

Even if Emperor Palpatine did return from the dead later on, that doesn't undermine this masterful ending, which was actually retrospectively enhanced by the Prequel Trilogy showing Anakin's original downfall.
