The Single Biggest Mistake Each Star Wars Movie Has Made

11. Attack Of The Clones - Anakin And Padme

Star Wars Revenge Of The Sith

Attack of the Clones gets more hate than it deserves since it is actually an entertaining action film, but nevertheless it's easy to see why so many hate it: it's because of this awful love story.

Anakin and Padme's romance is essentially 'How Not to Do A Film Love Story'. It feels unrealistic from the off since Jedi aren't allowed to marry yet the Jedi Council inexplicably sends the evidently-smitten Anakin to Naboo as Padme's protection with no supervision, while Lucas' screenwriting is once again absolutely awful and the romantic scenes are pure torture.

Both Hayden Christensen and poor Natalie Portman (who was SO badly wasted here) are terrible, the dialogue is risible and there's zero chemistry or psychological depth to be found anywhere.

In terms of what the worst moments are, Anakin's monologue about how he dislikes sand and Padme telling Anakin they can't be together are peaks of cringe-worthiness.
