Avengers: Infinity War is one of the very best MCU films that gets nearly everything right, but the thing that raised it from a great superhero flick to an all-time genre classic is THAT ending.

It always seemed quite likely the film would end on a downer, but whether you saw it coming or not this was still a devastating, flawlessly acted and perfectly-executed ending that left viewers around the world staggering out of the cinema in shock - and with tears in their eyes.

The year-long wait for Avengers: Endgame was absolutely agonizing and it's likely thanks to this conclusion that Endgame became the highest-grossing film of all time (temporarily). It's unfortunate that the subsequent MCU properties have often played the 'Blip' as it's now known for laughs, but even now, this conclusion hits like a knuckleduster to the windpipe.

The best MCU scene of all time? Well, duh, it's not even close.
