Current world events have caused chaos in Hollywood, and countless productions have been put on hold for the foreseeable future. Not even superheroes have emerged unscathed, and Disney recently postponed the entire Phase 4 slate after it became clear that Black Widow wouldn't meet its planned May release date (and that films currently shooting are unlikely to be finished in time).

Thor: Love and Thunder was sadly among those affected, and instead of arriving in cinemas on November 5th, 2021, we're now going to have to wait that little bit longer for the Thor: Ragnarok sequel. It's new release date is February 18th, 2022, and that feels like a very long time away!

On the plus side, it gives Taika Waititi - who claims to be on the fifth or sixth draft of the movie's screenplay - time to get Love and Thunder right. It also means Marvel Studios isn't going to be forced to rush work on it, something which proved to be disastrous for Justice League when studio execs decided it had to meet its planned November 2017 release (remember Henry Cavill's poor CGI jaw?).
