5. Fix The Romance

While Thor's relationships with his fellow Asgardians haven't been given the chance to grow within the films, his romance with Jane Foster has played a large part in his ongoing arc, ranging from helping him learn humility to giving him something to truly want to fight to protect on Earth. Unfortunately, in comparison to, for instance, the Tony/Pepper or Steve/Peggy relationships in other films, it hasn't quite earned the level of investment it should have. Outside of helping defeat Malekith, Jane's spent much of her time fawning over Thor or serving as a damsel in distress, without really coming into her own as a fully-fledged character defined by more than just being Thor's love interest or through the obligatory lip service about what she's up to off-screen in both Avengers films. How she will play into Ragnarok is anyone's guess, especially if the film does, in fact, spend less time on Earth, but if the MCU plans on continuing to demand our investment in the Thor/Jane relationship, it needs to spend time on bringing her to the next level, where she can be a character equal to Thor without merely existing as an object to protect. By allowing more people to get invested in her, it'll go a long way in helping fans to root for them - or even just her - in the long run.
