Thor: Ragnarok - Predicting Who Lives And Who Dies
It's probably time to start saying goodbye...
There's a pretty pressing temptation to suggest that Thor: Ragnarok is going to be a laugh-a-minute riot, more in tune with the spirit of Guardians Of The Galaxy than the impending doom of Avengers: Infinity War. After all, director Taika Waititi is famed for making off-kilter comedies and there's very much a sense in the trailer that he's made something in keeping with his usual style.
But the Infinity War shadow looms large and ominous, and we have to remember that Thor: Ragnarok directly feeds into that ensemble event. For it to be a chuckle-fest would be particularly jarring when it comes to the gear change for the Russos' arc-ending climax. It's more likely we'll see some of Waititi's trademark comedy, but with the kind of devastating gut punches that James Gunn added so expertly to both Guardians films.
This is a film about planetary conquest after all, it's not just a matter of Thor and Hulk having a bit of a fight on a distant planet. In other words, we have to expect that there will be casualties, and with the stakes far higher than they've ever been in a Thor movies (thanks to Thanos waiting in the wings), there could be some surprisingly big names on the death list by the end.
So who lives, who dies and who could go either way?
