Thor: The Dark World - 7 Awesome Marvel Cinematic Universe References In The Film

7. "I Saw You On TV..."

Thor Dark World 48 One of the things that peeved a number of Thor fans about The Avengers was the absence of Jane Foster. Not because we wanted to see her or anything (she's not exactly the most interesting character around), but because it didn't really make sense that Thor would return to Earth to help his fellow superheroes whilst skipping over a brief visit to his beloved mortal girlfriend. Of course, the real reason for Jane's absence is because she didn't need to be in the movie - there was already too much going on. Besides, we had Pepper Potts for romantic stuff. Upon reuniting, though, the fact that Thor didn't come to see Jane whilst he was whopping ass pre and post-New York is apparently something that needs to be discussed, given that she totally would have known about his role in the whole ordeal. "I saw you on TV..." she says to him at one point with a hurt infliction to her voice, referencing the Battle of New York. Thor excuses himself like a pro, citing the fact that he had important things to do and didn't have time to visit - fair enough. I suppose she can't be too mad at him, given that he - you know - saved humanity.
