The DCExtended Universe already has a pretty packed slate, but it looks like there's room for one more hero to join the ranks.

Birth.Movies.Death are reporting (via Cleats and Capes) that Zack Stentz, whose screenwriting credits include Thor, X-Men:First Class, and the upcoming Power Rangers movie, is working on bringing Booster Gold to the big-screen.

The reception to Batman v Superman has sparked all manner of rumours about what changes are going to be made to the DCEU going forwards, with The Flash movie already losing its director, as they look to perhapsfind something that isn't completely dark and serious. Adding Booster Gold to the mix would certainly be an indication of that, given he is much more of a fun, lighthearted character.

Booster Gold is an athlete-turned-security guard, who steals time-travel technology that allows him to journey to the future in the hope of becoming rich and famous. Cocky and selfish, he does eventually transition to become an actual hero in his own right.

Aside from Stentz's involvement, and the character himself, the other exciting aspect of this is that Greg Berlanti will be producing, and maybe even directing the movie. He's put together the successful DCTV universe, with the likes of Arrow, The Flash (which Stentz recently worked on), and Legends of Tomorrow (where Gold's son, Rip Hunter, is a central character), and seems a great fit for capturing the tone of the character, and delivering something rather different to what we've seen so far from DC's films.

There's no word yet on just when they'll manage to fit this into their upcoming slate of movies, but if Warner Bros. are serious about altering the tone of the DCEU in the future, then they'd be wise to make room for this.
