5. The Details - Jeff Lang
"The what...?" I hear many of you probably say. Well, back in 2011, before he was busy making The Great Gatsby with Baz Luhrmann and Leo DiCaprio, Maguire was slumming it with hordes of infernal pests, locked in a war for the very future of humanity. Or, in other words, he was trying to fight a family of raccoons who were ruining his lawn. Sort of like if you stripped all of the superfluous plot details and just had Bill Murray trying to blow up the gophers for a couple of hours, in suburbia. With Ray Liotta. The plot is ridiculous enough, and tries to trade on an escalating sense of stupidity in the situation, but Maguire is badly suited to the middle-suburban man, happily married who loses his mind to an insane quest. We've seen it better with older, more comically suited actors.
