6. Spy Game (2001)
Assembling one of the best casts of Tony Scott's career,
Spy Game reunited Robert Redford with who most consider to be his contemporary equivalent, Brad Pitt. This marks one of Scott's more intelligent outings, a crackling spy thriller about a young CIA operative (Pitt) who has been captured abroad, while the agent who trained him (Redford) recalls in flashback how he recruited the man. This is a daring thriller not unlike
Enemy of the State; thought-provoking and smart, but also exciting, and boasting excellent performances from the two leads in particular. Though the ending is quite predictable, the journey getting there is a thrilling one indeed.
