7. Edward Asner - Elf
Asner just looks right as Santa Claus. He's a fairly minor part of the Will Ferrell comedy but he brings a lot as Santa, and though it sounds vaguely ridiculous, he is believable in the role. Believable as an imaginary Saint/magician who gives all kids presents for free. Impressive acting achievement that.
6. Edward Ivory - The Nightmare Before Christmas
He had to feature in some way, because Burton's festive brain-child is my favourite modern Christmas film by some distance. But his inclusion is much more than obligatory: Ivory's voice-work is exceptional, especially in his exchanges with Oogie during "Oogie Boogie's Song" and it is nice to see that Burton's idea of Santa Claus is as traditional as his storyline is odd-ball.
