Yes, you may have guessed it. Frequently cited as Tim Burtons best film, Edward Scissorhands success is entirely down to the success of its main character. Created by an elderly inventor (Horror star Vincent Price), Edward is a Frankensteins Monster-sort with, you've got it, scissors for hands but also a great capacity for kindness. However, when Avon lady Pegg brings him from his Gothic castle to sunny suburbia, Edward inadvertently brings trouble. An incredibly endearing character, we care for Edward as his very sweet, good nature lasts in face of this new scary world he finds himself in. Johnny Depp really cuts it in the role, giving one of his best performances, helping the character to go down as the ultimate Tim Burton character.
