Somehow, I missed this news completely the other day...
Shaun Toub has been confirmed to have joined the currently filming adaptation of the Marvel superhero
Iron Man. He will most likely be playing the role of Mandarin who in comic book lore is Iron Man's big nemesis. He is The Joker to Batman, the Lex Luthor to Superman, etc. If his role is that of Mandarin, then that means we will have two big villains for the movie, as we already know that
Jeff Bridges has shaved his
head bald to play Obadiah Stone. One thing that
Jon Favreau has made very clear from day one with his movie, is that he is treating the trilogy as one long story, where the narrative progresses from movie-to-movie. Much like
Sam Raimi'sSpider-Man, there is a long term plan at work here, so maybe Mandarin might just be in the background for this one. Also signed for the movie is
Leslie Bibb, who was most recently seen in
Talladega Nights. She will be playing a fast-talking reporter. source -
