Toy Story 4: 19 Easter Eggs & References Explained

9. Up

Up Carl Ellie
Pixar

Up is one of Pixar's best-loved movies, and gets a strong showing in Easter egg form here. In the antiques store alone, Carl's (Ed Asner) cane and a painting of the "dogs playing poker" scene can both be seen.

Elsewhere, there's another brilliantly apt reference at the fairground - the very same balloon cart that Carl used to sell balloons from as a young man.

The design of the cart is distinctive (and old fashioned) enough to stand out, but considering how busy and eye-wateringly gorgeous the fairground scenes are, it's easily missed all the same.

Wouldn't it have been sweet to see a 90-year-old Carl selling his balloons at the fair, maybe even with Russell (Jordan Nagai) by his side?
