Trailer For Burying The Ex, A Zombie Film From Gremlins' Joe Dante

Anton Yelchin stars in the zomantic comedy.

Burying The Ex It's been some time since Joe Dante's Burying the Ex premiered at last year's Venice Film Festival but there's finally a trailer. Here is Anton Yelchin trying to break up with Ashley Greene though she's a rather single-minded member of the undead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8gJbE3LYNs At least he didn't deal with her the Ash Williams way. Dante is a fine director, but word from Venice was that Alan Trezza's script was fraught with issues, including a lot of 'nagging girlfriend' cliches that were more embarrassing than funny. The metaphor of an undead relationship is a good one, but it won't fly if the representations are cheap, tacky or offensive. There's also the small matter of Life After Beth coming along recently and taking a very similar take on the whole zomantic comedy thing. Still, I'm hoping that there's a lot of fun to be had here. Dante should be able to pull off a few good visual gags at least, and the cast are at least likeable. Burying the Ex - which should never have had the title, but I guess it's too late to change it now - will reach US VOD on June 19th. We might be witing a whil over here in the UK.
