Trailer: RACHEL GETTING MARRIED

Indie drama from Jonathan Demme, starring Anne Hathaway.

A strange and decisively off beat Indie drama, the upcoming Rachel Getting Married stars a shorter haired Anne Hathaway as a struggling young woman who has been in and out of rehab for the last ten years and is an emotional wreck as she returns home for her sister's wedding. Without many surprises, the trailer hints at a up and down emotional roller coaster with lots of life affirming speeches and gestures. The narrative may be predictable but the man behind the helm might surprise you. It's Jonathan Demme, the director of Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia and The Manchurian Candidate of which this movie I would suggest is not going to be his best work.

Though we like Anne Hathaway right - even if it's a SHOW ME THE OSCAR role.

Rachel Getting Married has no current release date attached but will screen at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Sony Pictures Classics holds US rights and Mongrel Media will distribute in Canada.
