4. Not Enough Dinobots

Paramount PicturesParamount PicturesOne of the aspects of AoE that audiences were most excited about was the Dinobots, the famed Transformers who resemble dinosaurs. The movie's money shot featured heavily in trailers was that of Optimus Prime sat atop Dinobot leader Grimlock, and frankly, we wondered how Michael Bay could possibly screw this up. While the sequence involving the Dinobots is undeniably fun and one of the best parts of the movie, it's just too brief considering how heavily they had figured in the movie's promotion, and we were definitely left wanting more. The Dinobots don't arrive until the final half-hour of the movie, and their screen time out of that is pitifully short, leaving us temporarily in awe but mostly just disappointed that Bay didn't give them a bigger part. Considering the Dinobots probably won't be used again in future films, this was Bay's chance to make the most of them, and he instead relegated them to a glorified cameo, which was pretty much the worst thing he could have done...
