News surfaced a while ago regarding the title for
Michael Bay's upcoming robot extravaganza, '
Transformers 3', and it's being called "
The Dark of The Moon". Yes, it does sound like a Pink Floyd album but *gasp*...it's not! While 'Revenge Of The Fallen' allowed you to speculate on the plot for the second Transformers film, 'The Dark Of The Moon' is as vague as it gets. However, thanks to a Push-Pop book on
Amazon, it seems there's an
unofficial synopsis making its rounds and it goes something like this :
The Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in 2009s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. Theres new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime Transformers character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.
Thanks to some contacts I have and a few highly-advanced analytical methods, here's what I have derived from the synopsis above:
"Big robots fight, big explosions, big car chase scenes, and more big explosions".
Take note, this isn't the official synopsis, it could be a simple sub-story meant for the book ONLY. Whatever the case, I'm pretty hyped for 'Transformers 3'. The last one was a clusterfest of crap, but I'm a sucker for awesome visuals and Michael Bay knows how to deliver on that basis.
