Tron 3: 5 Do's and 5 Don'ts

4. Don't - Over-think the Plot

Tron: Legacy has a very thought-provoking idea in it: what if life naturally evolved in a digital environment? However, this concept has to share screen-time with a son reuniting with his father, a creation seeking revenge on his creator, an entire world-building backstory, mandatory action beats and all the other trappings of a Hollywood blockbuster. If there's one thing Tron 3D needs to do differently than its predecessor, it's to streamline the focus of the movie. Science-fiction is always a great outlet for provocative notions, but only if it isn't drowned out by other surface elements. If the filmmakers can find a way to make the story about one unifying theme or idea, it'd make for a less convoluted experience.
